Pribanichtakes first in Music City Muscle

CROSSVILLE — On most days, one can find Caroline Pribanich at the Brickhouse Gym on Main St. working out and pumping iron for her next competition in body building. She is new to this sport, but has had great success early after competing in the NPC Tennessee State show in August in Cookeville and winning first place in the teen bikini division.

The owner of Brickhouse Gym and a trainer, Peggy Eberhart, had suggested this sport to her last spring and says she is a natural at it. Rebecca Hawkins, a nutritionist at Brickhouse Gym, has also supported her in this sport. A healthy diet is just as important as the exercise workout one does.

The result was another first place, competing at the Music City Muscle competition in Nashville in the teen bikini division in early October. Because of her success, GNC, a national nutrition firm, with a local store on Main St., has sponsored her for future competitions.

When asked how she feels about this sport, Pribanich said the bodybuilding sport is like no other. As an avid cross country runner for Stone Memorial High School, a martial artist for 10 years and first Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and a former dance standout at Cumberland County Playhouse for over 10 years, she said it pulls all of these activities together for her now.

"I love being on the big stage, but I love to compete even more. I am blessed to have my parents, Dr. Steve and Jan Pribanich, as well as the local community support my efforts in all of my sports and/or activities over the years," she said.

Pribanich graduates in December from Stone Memorial High School and will start taking college classes toward her business degree. She hopes to be an owner and trainer of her own gym one day.
