Homestead beats South in JV basketball action

CROSSVILLE — Brett Newcome pumped in 21 points, as the Homestead Bulldogs remained unbeaten (3-0) with a  34-24 victory over the South Cumberland Rebels in Cumberland County junior varsity basketball action last Thursday.

Zach Street lead South with 11 points.

Homestead (34): Brett Newcome 21, Conner Lowe, Mason Cox 6, Zach Boyd 2, Cole McClellan 1, Thomas Arnold 4.

Brown at North

North 48, Brown 3: Emma Capps and Reece Stover tallied 14 and 12 markers, respectively, to lead the  Lady Patriots over the Lady Bears.

Kaitlyn Tapp had two points for Brown, and Rebekah Cruz added one.

    The Cookeville Cavaliers scored seven runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to claim a 7-0 District 6AAA victory over the CCHS Jets Monday night in Cookeville.

    The SMHS Lady Panthers had another stellar day while the Panthers hammered out a solid day in Knoxville in the Tennessee Relays over the weekend.. The Lady Panthers finished ninth out of the 57 scheduled teams to compete, while the boys took 32nd out of the 57.
