CROSSVILLE — After placing second in the McMinn County Duals last Saturday, the Cumberland County Jets wrestling team won one of three matches Tuesday afternoon against Greenback, Grace Christian and Rhea County, according to Wes McNeely Wednesday morning.

The Jets lost 34-33 to Greenback.

In the Grace Christian match, CCHS was tied with the visitors and had to go to the 10th criteria (most near-fall points) which gave them the winner. There are 16 criteria that are used to break ties.

The Jets defeated Rhea County 42-27 in the third match.

"We would like to thank Glenn Thompson and his whole staff at Benchmark Physical Therapy for his support of the Jets wrestling program, as well as Tony Davis Auto Repair and Wyatt's Custom Slaughtering," said Coach Wes McNeeley.

CCHS traveled to Clinton Thursday to grapple Anderson County and will host Kingston and Stone Memorial Dec. 19 in the CCHS wrestling complex beginning at 5 p.m.

CCHS will compete in the Charger Invitational Dec. 21 at Chattanooga Christian School.
