The Stone Memorial Panther baseball team celebrated senior night Tuesday with an 8-7 make-up game victory over Loudon on Panther Field.
Before the game, seniors Sawyer Casey and Nathan Greene were honored, and received custom bats commemorating their four years of play at SMHS, as the Panthers came from behind in 10 innings to post the final regular season District 4AA victory over the Redskins.
Greene was the starting pitcher, hurling three shutout innings, before the visitors scored two runs in the fourth inning on one hit and three errors.
The Redskins took a 7-1 lead into the seventh inning, when the Panther offense came to life, scoring six runs to tie the game at 7-7.
Finally, Tarallo launched a double in the bottom of the 10th inning and scored on Clay Wilson's RBI for the 8-7 win.
Rayne Bennett, Luke Matthews, A.J. Tarallo and John Martin all relieved Greene, with Martin earning the win.
Austin Helton walked twice and scored two runs. Matthews had a double and a single, scoring one run. Jason Moldenhauer walked and scored one run. Greene contributed a single and walk. Tarallo had a single, two doubles and two runs. Wilson had two singles and a run. Casey walked and scored one run.
Wednesday night the Panthers lost 11-1 at Cookeville, before returning home Thursday night to play Scott County with the winner travelling to CAK on Friday night to face Alcoa in District 4AA Tournament play.
