SMHS cheerleaders recognized at banquet

CROSSVILLE — The 2012-2013 Stone Memorial High School Panther Cheerleaders were honored at a year-end banquet at Romo's Mexican Restaurant on March 19. SMHS cheerleaders were recognized for their hard work and dedication at the banquet.

The cheer booster club presented awards honoring the cheerleaders after dinner attended by family and friends. Booster club President Donna Brumfield presented the awards to the cheerleaders.

Seniors receiving a letter, cheer pin and four bars for being four-year members were Alison Brumfield, Cami Idema and Whitney Padgett.

Juniors receiving their letter, cheer pin and three bars were three-year members Ashley Adams, Kalyn Phelps, Alex Tollett and Toi-ana Tollett. Juniors not present but receiving awards were Kaitlyn Hayes, two-year member and Savannah Newman, three-year member.

Sophomores receiving a letter, cheer pin and bar included Brooke Chastain, one-year member, and two-year members were Brooke Amos, Allison Hedgecoth, Haley Miles and Megan Shaw.

The freshmen receiving a letter, cheer pin and bar for first-year cheering were Kristen South and CaraBeth Swafford.

A special award was given to little Panther Casey Hepburn.

The cheerleaders and boosters would like to give a special thanks to all the businesses and individuals who supported the squad with donations over the past year. Their generous sponsorship gave them something to cheer about!
