The Stone Memorial High School basketball teams played in a TSSAA Hall of Fame double-header Tuesday night at Livingston, sweeping the Wildcats to go to 1-0 on the season.
The Lady Panthers won 77-73, while the Panthers won 61-47.
Stone 77, Livingston 73: Coach John Walker's squad trailed 22-17 after one quarter, but outscored the hosts 24-20 in the second quarter to slice the lead to 42-41 at the break.
Llivingston outscored SMHS 18-15 in the third quarter to take a 60-56 lead after three periods, but the Lady Panthers rallied with a 21-13 fourth quarter to take the victory.
Statistical leaders for the Lady Panthers were Tiffany Cokkinias (four points, four rebounds, seven assists), Jordan Thompson (eight points, five steals), Jacki Livesay (17 points, three steals), Lacey Melton (three points, three rebounds), Abby Griffin (eight points, two assists, two steals), Bailey Rutledge (15 points), Courtney White (eight points, three assists, three rebounds) and Riley Hunt (seven points, six rebounds).
No information was received on the boys contest.
The Panthers and Lady Panthers will be playing in Hall of Fame games Saturday at Maryville against host Maryville and Oak Ridge. SMHS has games scheduled at 11 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 1:45 p.m. and 3 p.m.
They season officially tips off at Clarkrange Monday night at 6.
