Krebs to offer tennis lessons

CROSSVILLE — Tennis lessons for juniors and adults will be offered at Crossville Centennial Park and taught by Mark Krebs, who has been a pioneer teaching and coaching tennis for more than 25 years and is sought after as a director and coach.

Krebs is a USPTA certified P-1 professional and is considered a doubles specialist.

His system of double coaching is a standard method at all of Ivan Lendl's tennis facilities in Connecticut.

Krebs was rated #1 in the men's 35's in the Hawaiian Pacific division in 2001 and was a  singles and double champion in the Great Intercollegiate Conference in  1983.

Junior tennis lessons began April 29, using "Quick Start" tennis. There are two four-week programs —Tuesday and Thursday. The cost is $60 for both days or $112 for two times a week.

Classes for K-3 grades (ages 4-6) is from 4:15-5:15 p.m.; for grades 5-8 (ages 8-11), 5:15-6:15 p.m. and for 9-12 grade is invitation  only.

A four-week program for adults starts May 4 and is Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 6-7 p.m.; Saturday from 9-10 a.m.

Class size is limited to seven. The drop-in fee is $17. The cost is $60 and all programs are pre-paid.
