The Stone Memorial Lady Panther basketball team lost 57-38 to Loudon to finish fourth in the District 4AA Tournament Monday night at Kingston, and will travel to Gatlinburg-Pittman Friday night for the opening round of the Region 2AA Tournament.
The Lady Panthers (10-21) trailed the Lady Redskins 12-9 after the first quarter and 29-19 at the break. An 11-8 third quarter sliced Loudon's lead to 37-30 after three quarters, but the Lady Redskins finished the game with a 20-8 run for the final margin.
Leading the Lady Panthers were Tiffany Cokkinias (two points, three rebounds, four assists, three steals), Jordan Thompson (one assist), Emily Bryant (four points, three rebounds), Jacki Livesay (seven points), Kirsten Potter (six points, six rebounds, three steals), Kerigan Smith, Faith Van Ruden (one point, one rebound, one assist), Abby Griffin (five points, two steals), Bailey Rutledge (two points), Courtney White (four points, one rebound, four steals), Sidney Early (three points, two rebounds), Makayla Kington (four points, three rebounds, one assist, four steals), Riley Hunt and Lacey Melton.
The Lady Panthers were 15 of 51 from the field and five of 10 from the charity stripe with 19 rebounds, seven assists, 16 steals and 14 turnovers.
SMHS goes to Gatlinburg-Pittman (24-6) for the opening round of the Region 2AA Tournament in a rematch from last year's region, when the Lady Panthers defeated Gatlinburg-Pittman 52-39 en route to the 2012 Region 2AA title at Loudon.
The Lady Highlanders defeated Knox Fulton 46-44 Monday night for the District 3AA championship, placing three players in double figures — Haris Price (11 points), Hunter Price (11 points) and Julia Maloney (10 points). Loudon travels to Fulton on Friday. Alcoa faced CAK in the 4AA championship game Tuesday night in Kingston.
