Homestead tops Pleasant Hill in elementary hoop action

CROSSVILLE — Tristan Norman tallied 16 points to lead the Homestead Bulldogs to a 54-19 victory over  the Pleasant Hill Hornets in Cumberland County elementary varsity basketball action Monday night.

Braden Qualls led Pleasant Hill with 11 points.

Scoring summary

Pleasant Hill (19): Braxton Underwood 2, Braden Qualls 11, Cason Graham 6. No other players were provided.

Homestead (54): Nathaniel Sexton 7, Tristan Norman 16, Jamie Nichols 4, Brett Newcome 1, Zach Pugh, Gage Cox 5, Zach Denton 5, Ashton Doris 1, Seth Sherrill 3, Austin Bryant 4, Dylan Cole.

No report: Brown at Stone, North at Martin and Pleasant Hill at Homestead (girls). Crab Orchard had an open date.

Jan. 17: Stone at Pleasant Hill, Crab Orchard at Brown and Homestead at Martin. North has an open date.

Jan. 22: Martin at Stone, Pleasant Hill at Crab Orchard and Brown at North. Homestead has the open date.

Jan. 24: Crab Orchard at Martin, Pleasant Hill at North and Homestead at Brown. Stone has the open date.

Jan. 31, Feb 1-2, 4-5, 7, 9: These are the tentative dates for the elementary varsity tournament at both CCHS and SMHS.

(Elementary coaches are reminded to submit results on a timely basis. Results more than two weeks old will not be accepted. Coaches are asked to please include first and last names of all players who play, as there are players with the same last name on teams and who have siblings also on those teams.)

    The CCHS Jet baseball went 1-2 over spring break to improve to 17-10 on the season, after losing to Greeneville 3-2 in eight innings last Thursday, beating Cocke County 7-1 last Friday and losing 10-4 to Knox Carter last Saturday.
