The SMHS Panther baseball team finds itself still searching for a District 4AA win, after the Kingston Yellow Jackets swept the home-and-home series Tuesday night with a 7-1 final.
Gabriel Caballero pitched 6 1/3 innings for the Panthers with John Martin closing. Spencer Boles pitched the entire game for Kingston to take home the win.
Kingston jumped out to a three-run lead in the top of the first on a walk and two hits.
Boles issued two walks to Austin Helton and Caballero, but both were stranded on base.
Both sides went down in order in the second, with both teams remaining scoreless in the third and fourth.
The Yellow Jackets plated another run in the fifth after a leadoff walk, a fielder's choice and a single.
John Martin reached first for the Panthers on an error at second base, with Rayne Bennett reaching first after being hit by a pitch. Helton walked for the second time, but the Panthers remained scoreless.
Kingston scored two unearned runs in the sixth inning on a hitbatsman, an error and two singles.
Jason Moldenhauer doubled, advanced to third on Caballero's fly out to right and scored the Panthers' lone run on Nathan Greene's fielder's choice.
Kingston scored the seventh run in the seventh on two singles and a walk. Martin and Helton each singled in the bottom half of the inning, but were left stranded.
SMHS and CCHS are cohosting the Mountain Man Tournament Thursday through Saturday to close out the week.
