Scorecard playoffs determine Exchange Club tourney champs

CROSSVILLE — Twenty-six teams (108 players) were greeted by beautiful weather April 26 at Lake Tansi for the 28th annual Exchange Club Golf Tournament; however, it took several scorecard playoffs to determine the winners in each of three flights.

Micah McShan, Chuck Dale, Stewart Smith and Brian Daley won the first flight in a scorecard playoff with Sonny Poland, Everett Cook, Pat Kirby and Scott Kirby, after both teams finished with a 13-under-par 59.

Third place in another scorecard playoff was Mike Dalton, Carl Hedgecoth, Robert Parsons and Danny Plumlee over Shelia Davenport, Kay Ward, Diane Edmondson and Joanna Herman and Dale Wheeler, Tom Solberg, Tina Wheeler and Scott VanWinkle.

Three teams were involved in a scorecard playoff in the second flight, as three foursomes finished at eight-under-par 64.

Joe Mac Bennett, Chuck Sparks, Jim Clark and David Legge won first, followed by Conley Dykes, Dan Boggs, Chuck Sullins and Dave Hickey,  and Jerry Davenport, Larry Ward, Kris Burk and Jim Goins.

Judy May, Linda Spivey, Darlene Greer and Rasmussen won first place in the third flight in another scorecard playoff over Sheridan and Norma Miszkevitz, Don Beane and Patti Welch. Both finished at four-under-par 68.

Tammy Kosor, Todd Mono, Dino D'Agastino and Karen D'Agastino finished third with a 69.
