Avalon Center hosting 5K, fun run June 8

CROSSVILLE — The Avalon Center will be hosting a 5K and one-mile walk/fun run to benefit the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program, Saturday, June 8, at 8 a.m. Registration is at 7 a.m.

The entry fee is $20 if postmarked by May 25 and $25 after May 25 at the event.

The 5K route will begin at Stone Memorial High School and proceed to Cook Rd. passing by Roane State Community College and continuing over the 1-40 overpass to Stone Elementary and back. The one-mile walk/fun run will be held on the SMHS campus.

All pre-registered runners and walkers will receive at T-shirt. Late registrations will receive a shirt, as long as supplies last. Pre-registrations must be postmarked by May 25.

Awards in the 5K go to the top overall male/female and three-deep to males and females in 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over. Overall winners are ineligible for age division awards.

Runners and walkers in the one-mile walk/fun run are welcome. Awards will go to the top five overall winners.
