CCHS football golf tourney set June 1

CROSSVILLE — The Cumberland County High School football team's fund-raising golf tournament will be held Saturday, June 1, at Bear Trace Cumberland Mountain, beginning with a noon shotgun start.

The four-person scramble will feature A (0-9), B (10-14), C (15-20) and D (21 and up) format, with $400 going to the first-place team and $200 going to the second-place team.

The entry fee is $65 per person or $260 per team, which includes green fees, cart, range balls, lunch and prizes. There will be special events mulligans, 50/50 drawing and other activities, with lunch being served at 11 a.m.

•Also, the annual Blue and Gold game and Hall of Fame induction ceremonies will be May 4 at 5 p.m. at Jet Stadium. As part of Saturday's activities, a corn hole tournament will be held that morning. More details will follow.

The Jets will host Moore County in a scrimmage Friday, May 3, at 6 p.m.

    The Cookeville Cavaliers scored seven runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to claim a 7-0 District 6AAA victory over the CCHS Jets Monday night in Cookeville.

    The SMHS Lady Panthers had another stellar day while the Panthers hammered out a solid day in Knoxville in the Tennessee Relays over the weekend.. The Lady Panthers finished ninth out of the 57 scheduled teams to compete, while the boys took 32nd out of the 57.
