SMHS cross country teams run in Chattanooga Cross Country League


CROSSVILLE — On a 95 degree day in hot Chattanooga; the Stone cross country team competed in a 5k race at Camp Jordan. 

In the junior varsity race the Stone team finished 10th out of 32 teams and there were 300 runners.

Ben Bowman led the way for SMHS in 57th (22:43);  Bailey Davis, 58th (22:51); Sergio Romo, 84th (24:04); Chris Brickle, 87th (24:06); Justin Hall, 124th (25:13); Chandler Reed, 128th (25:17); Skyler Hawn,137th (25:56) and Grant Brown, 243rd (32:16).  

In the girls varsity 3.1 mile race; Stone finished fifth out of 32 teams from three states and 200 runners. 

SMHS was led by  Hailey Coudriet in 11th place (22:05); Caroline Pribanich, 13th (22:12); Kerigan Smith, 37th (24:06); Rachel Raulerson, 74th  (26:33);  Claire Tacket, 86th  (27:19); Kayli Priestwood, 101st  (28:31) and Alexandra Anthony, 154th (34:27).

In the boys varsity Stone finished 10th out of 32 teams and three states and 230 runners.  SMHS was led by George Sampley, 40th (19:45); Blu Shillings, 63rd (20:24); Dawson Hassler, 67th (20:28); Anthony Spencer, 74th (20:44); John Mathis, 79th (20:49); Sam Hagan, 87th (21:08) and Anthony Algeria 113th (21:41).

SMHS will compete in Cookeville Sept. 17.
