Elementary varsity finishes second week

CROSSVILLE — The Cumberland County elementary varsity season played four games Tuesday night — Stone at North, Homestead at Brown, South at Pleasant Hill and Pine View at Martin (girls only). Crab Orchard had the night off, while the junior varsity regular season wraps up this week and the tournament begins Saturday.

South at Pleasant Hill

South 49, Pleasant Hill 16: Gracee Dishman tallied 10 points for the Lady Rebels, who had 12 of their 19 players dent the scoreboard.

Jessie Blaylock led Pleasant Hill with eight points.

Braden Qualls tickled the twine for 27 points to lead the Hornets, while Donny Roby added 11 markers.

The regular season finales were Pine View at South, Pleasant Hill at Homestead, North at Brown and Crab Orchard at Stone. Martin was idle. The tournament brackets were not determined until after the games were finished.

The tournament begins Saturday at Pleasant Hill and continues Monday and Thursday.

This season marks the 11th anniversary for the event to be hosted in Crossville and the sixth consecutive year that the championship will be at Stonehenge, accoring to the Tennessee Golf Association.
