CMC offers free sports physicals

CROSSVILLE — Cumberland Medical Center, along with the Cumberland County School System and the Tennessee Coordinated School Health, is offering a free sports physical to all Cumberland County school children that require a physical to participate in sports.

CMC and the Cumberland County School System care about the children and this free service is offered so this step is not an obstacle for a child to participate in a sport.

This event is not to replace a yearly physical performed by the child’s primary physician, but will follow the guidelines required by the TSSAA to qualify and participate in school sports.

The event will take place at the Community Complex at 1398 Livingston Rd., Crossville, on Jan. 26, May 4 and Oct. 19 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Central Time.

To participate, you must call (931) 459-7181 or email for an appointment.

Pick up the consent and release form and the TSSAA Medical Evaluation form from the child’s school office.

Complete the forms in full and bring them with the child the day of the appointment. The child’s parent or legal guardian must accompany and stay with the child.

Local physicians, nurses, orthopedic surgeons, dieticians, diabetes consultants, physical therapist, and CMC Wellness Complex and school staff will be on hand to consult with parents regarding their child’s health.

This is a free service, regardless of having health insurance or not.
