The Fairfield Glade Sportsman Club’s 25th wild game dinner to be Saturday, March 23, at Scarlett’s Catering Hall at 5429 Peavine Rd. in Fairfield Glade, next to the Shell station, still has plenty of tickets remaining due to the expanded seating available at Scarletts.
Tickets are $15 each and can be picked up at the Sportsman Club (707-9033) on Shorty Barnes Rd. during club house open hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Saturday or Sunday. The deadline for reservations is March 20.
The club’s wild game dinners, which started in 1988, feature a wide selection of wild game including venison, antelope, elk, wild turkey, pheasant, dove and other dishes, all prepared by club members.
For those “not sure about consuming wild game,” but still would like to attend, chef Doug Scarlett is preparing a nice selection of “standard fare” meats which will include two vegetables, salad, rolls, desert and several drinks, all to compliment the wild game.
Speaking of drinks, this dinner is a BYOB affair with happy hour and socializing starting at 5 p.m. followed by the program and dinner at 6 p.m.
Dinner events include the presentation of the seventh Sportsman of the Year award, recognition of the Cumberland County Clay Crusher shooting team, handing out some door prizes and a 50/50 drawing.
