The Jet defense prevented another run from scoring in the second, when Logan Underhill flied out to Burgess in right, who then threw to first baseman Dylan Fehr who threw Uebelacker who tagged out Reed at the plate, attempting to score from third.

After allowing the two second inning runs, Ledbetter allowed two baserunners in the third, before retiring the next nine Pioneers, who added that lone insurance run in the sixth. Ledbetter hit one batter in the seventh.

Pioneer starting pitcher Tristen Smith walked Ryan Burgess to open the game and then retired the next 10 Jets in order, before giving up a one-out single to Houston in the fourth and a two-out single to Cunningham in the fourth inning.

He then retired the next four Jets, before leaving the game in the bottom of the sixth.

CCHS scored once in the bottom of the sixth, as Ledbetter walked, stole second, moved to third on a ground out and scored on a balk to make the score 3-1.

The Jets put the tying runs on in the bottom of the seventh on back-to-back, two out singles by O'Rourke and Uebelacker.
