CROSSVILLE — The Stone Memorial tennis teams wrapped up the season Tuesday, dropping a pair of matches to Alcoa at Green Meadows Country Club. Both teams lost 5-4 to the Tornado teams in SMHS' final regular season trip to Alcoa.

The Lady Panthers finished 7-2 in the district (third place) and the Panthers finished 5-3 (fourth place).

"We played well, but they played better," said Coach Ray Hawn Wednesday morning.

SMHS split with Kingston Monday, as the Lady Panthers won 6-3, but the Panthers lost 7-2.

Ali Harris defeated Scott County's only player, Merry Carson, 8-0 Monday, as well. She is undefeated and will be the number one seed in girls singles in the district tournaments hosed by SMHS May 6-7.

Hawn will be the tournament director this year.
