CCHS tennis drops opening matches

CROSSVILLE — The Cumberland County High School tennis teams dropped their opening match of the year against District 6AAA foe White County on the home courts.

The Jets were blanked 9-0, while the Lady Jets were beaten 7-2.

Nithya Kanagasegar won the No. 1 singles match 8-0 and teamed with Camie Threet to win No. 1 doubles 8-2.

"I was pleased with the play I saw. We had some close matches and we are improving exponentially," said Coach Laurie Kerr.

CCHS hosted Rhea County Thursday afternoon and will travel to SMHS Tuesday. Both matches get under way at 3:30 p.m.
