Jets finish fourth in Seahawk Classic Monday

CROSSVILLE — The Cumberland County High School Jets finished fourth in the Seahawk Classic in Hilton Head, SC, Monday afternoon, losing 73-54 to Severn, MD in the consolation game.

The Jets (5-8) trailed 14-13 after one quarter, but used a 20-15 second quarter to take a 33-29 lead at the break; however, Severn outscored CCHS 24-9 in the third quarter and 20-12 in the fourth quarter to take the victory.

Diego Poore, who was named to the All-Tournament team, led the Jets with 15 points, six rebounds and five assists, followed by Logan Parsons (nine points, five rebounds, one steal), Ty Tabor (one point, two rebounds, one assist), Cade Smith (10 points, one rebound), Tanner Christopher four points, one rebound, one steal, two assists), Tyler Daugherty (two points, two rebounds), David Elliott (four points, two rebounds), Blake McLaughlin (one point, one steal, two assists), Nolan McLain (one rebound), Brandon Myers (one point, two rebounds, one steal, one assist), Austin Brown (two points), Jordan Graham (one rebound, one steal), Alex Dixon (five points, one rebound, one steal) and Drew Vaden (no points).

The Jets and Lady Jets will return to the court Jan. 3 against the Chattanooga Patriots and will travel to Clarkrange Jan. 7 and to Monterey Jan. 9, before resuming District 6AAA play at Rhea County Jan. 10.
