More than 50 compete in Avalon Center 5K June 8

CROSSVILLE — The Avalon Center held its first 5K run and 1 mile walk on Saturday, June 8, at Stone Memorial High School.  It was a beautiful day and more 50 participants came out to enjoy the low humidity to get in their daily run and help out a worthy organization. 

The results by age category are:

13-19 years: 

Male: 1. Brett Williams 33:51

There were no male participants.

In the 1 mile walk,  first place went  Chloe Smith, with Tate Seiber second and Phoebe Smith third.

    The CCHS Jet baseball went 1-2 over spring break to improve to 17-10 on the season, after losing to Greeneville 3-2 in eight innings last Thursday, beating Cocke County 7-1 last Friday and losing 10-4 to Knox Carter last Saturday.
