CROSSVILLE — Michael Hernandez, 11, of Crossville, was excited to compete in the "Cobb Challenge: Paws for A Cause" in Atlanta, GA. Proceeds from this meet helped to provide service dogs for disabled children. His scores were as follows: Vault Score- 9.8 (first place Gold Medal), Rings - 9.7 (first place Gold), High Bar - 9.4 (second Place Silver), Parallel Bars - 9.8 (third place Bronze). These event scores along with his 9.8 on Floor and an 8.6 on Pommel Horse, totaled 57.1 points earned him second place (Silver Medal) in the All Around Competition. He enjoys training at Victory Sports Center under Allan Malone Jr. (Boys Team Coach) and Martin Bush (Crossville Director).

Jets shut out 7-0 by Cookeville Monday
The Cookeville Cavaliers scored seven runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to claim a 7-0 District 6AAA victory over the CCHS Jets Monday night in Cookeville.
Panthers shut out Rhea County
On a wet Monday afternoon, the Stone Memorial baseball team hosted Rhea County in a District 6AAA match-up to claim a 10-0 win in the first game of the home-and-home series.
SMHS track teams compete at Tennessee Relays
The SMHS Lady Panthers had another stellar day while the Panthers hammered out a solid day in Knoxville in the Tennessee Relays over the weekend.. The Lady Panthers finished ninth out of the 57 scheduled teams to compete, while the boys took 32nd out of the 57.
SMHS tennis team loses twice to Rhea County
The Stone Memorial tennis teams lost their District 6AAA matches to Rhea County Monday afternoon. The boys lost 9-0, while the girls were beaten 7-2.

Lady Jets lose to White County
The Cumberland County High School Lady Jet softball team was shut out 4-0 by the White County Warriottes in District 6AAA action Thursday night on Lady Jet field.
Jets finish 1-2 last week to improve to 14-8
The Cumberland County High School Jet baseball team completed last week with a 1-2 record to go to 14-8 on the season, after a 4-3 loss at Dekalb County last Thursday, an 11-7 setback to Walker Valley and an 8-3 win at Livingston Saturday.
SMHS proudly welcomes new girls basketball coach
Stone Memorial High School has hired Greg Tipps as the new Lady Panther basketball coach, replacing John Walker who has resigned to accept an assistant basketball coaching position at Rhea County High School.
