Time running out to enter Lions tournament

— The Fairfield Glade Lions Club Golf Tournament will be Saturday, Sept. 7, at Heatherhurst Crag Course starting with an 8 a.m. shotgun tee time. This is a standard 18-hole scramble like most other tournaments, but with a slight change by the Lions.

You may use any players tee shot on all holes; however, the Lions require that a “designated putter” be assigned on three greens. This accounts for 12 holes. Standard scramble rules apply on the remaining six holes. Players have commented favorably on this change.

Hole-in-one prizes will be given on all par three holes. Hole 14 carries $5,000; hole 12, a choice of premium electronics package; hole 8, a selection of Taylor Made golf equipment; and hole 3, two airline tickets for use in the USA. Plus, players are invited to purchase a chance for closes-to-the-pin for $2 on hole 3. The winner receives 50 percent of the money collected.

The $70 entry fee includes green fees, continental breakfast and lunch for each player. A goody bag and free range balls will also be given to all players.

Fill out your entry form today and send to address shown with your check. Please call golf chairman Darryl Wharton at 456-9124 or Lion Duane West at 484-3441 if you have any question.
