The Milligan College baseball team has announced the addition of Nathan Greene to the 2013-'14 signing class. Head Coach Nathan Meade made the announcement. "Nathan is a great kid that comes from a great family," Meade said. "He is a tremendous addition not only to our team, but to our college as well. I am excited to have him join our club and watch him continue to develop as a player in our system." Greene is a 5-foot-10 catcher from Stone Memorial High School in Crossville. In addition to being a baseball standout, he finished in the top 25 of his class for all four years. Nathan is the son of Bobby and Tracie Greene. Golf Capital of Tennessee Women's Open Championship gets under way Thursday
The 16th annual Golf Capital of Tennessee Women’s Open Championship is set for July 31-Aug. 2 at Stonehenge Golf Club in Crossville. This season marks the 11th anniversary for the event to be hosted in Crossville and the sixth consecutive year that the championship will be at Stonehenge, accoring to the Tennessee Golf Association.

The Cumberland County High School golf teams opened the 2014 campaign by splitting their matches with District 6AAA foe Rhea County Monday at Dayton Country Club.

Former champs headline Women's Open
Two former champions headline the 108-person field for the 16th annual Golf Capital of Tennessee Women's Open hosted by the Tennessee Golf Association July 31-Aug. 2 run at Stonehenge Golf Club in Fairfield Glade. There are 35 professionals and 73 amateurs listed in the tournament pairings released by the Tennessee Golf Association last week.
Elementary jamboree set Aug. 9
The Cumberland Elementary football jamboree will be played Aug. 9 at Jet Stadium. There will be four quarters of action with several activities scheduled for halftime.
