Rowan one of 9 athletes nominated for McDonald's All American HS hoop games

CROSSVILLE — McDonald’s has announced its list of 814 prep seniors who have been nominated to play in the 2013 McDonald’s All American Games. This year’s list boasts players from 39 states and the District of Columbia who have been selected by high school coaches, athletic directors, principals and members of the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee. Nine players from the Middle Tennessee area were recently nominated to the McDonald’s All American High School Boys Basketball Team. 

The local players nominated for the 2013 Games include:

•Darius Thompson, Blackman High School, Murfreesboro, TN

•Brock Rowan, Stone Memorial High School, Crossville, Tn.

•Matt Pond, Centennial High School, Franklin, TN

•Josh Phillips, Pope John Paul II High School, Hendersonville, TN

•JeQuan Lewis, Dickson High School, Dickson, TN

•Jamonte Graham, Father Ryan High School, Nashville, TN

•Cornelius Elder, Ensworth High School, Nashville, TN

•Jamontae Davis, Hillsboro High School, Nashville, TN

•Asa Duvall, Brentwood High School, Brentwood, TN

The complete list of 2012 McDonald’s All American Games nominees are available at www.mcdaag.com. The final roster of 24 boys and 24 girls selected to play in the 2013 Games will be announced during the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Show on ESPNU, airing Feb. 14 at 5 p.m. ET.  

The 36th annual boys game will tip-off on Wednesday, April 3 at 8:30 p.m. CT from Chicago’s United Center and will be broadcast on ESPN.  Immediately preceding the Boys Game will be the 12th annual McDonald’s All American Girls Game which tips-off at 6 p.m. CT and will broadcast live on ESPNU.  Information regarding tickets for the 2013 McDonald’s All American Games is available at Ticketmaster. Tickets for the 2013 Games will go on sale Jan. 19 at 11 a.m. CT. Tickets start at $10 and include free parking. 

Proceeds from the Games will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®). To date, millions of dollars have been donated to RMHC Chapters from proceeds generated by McDonald’s All American Games.
