CCHS volleyball team honored at banquet

CROSSVILLE — The Cumberland County High School Lady Jet varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams were awarded special awards and letters at their annual banquet Oct. 26.

Earning letter awards were Emalee Breeding, Lindsey Sherrill, Brianah Castleberry, Julia Hively, Shelby Kilby, Lily Barnes, Sadie Bowman, Maddie Bernabei, Kansas Stamper, Rebekah Teeple, Christine Jones, Cheyanne Frazee, Victoria Lee, Kayla Stamper, Sara Shinn, Amber Johnson and Tessa Dixon.

Junior varsity award winners were Castleberry, Most Improved; Bowman, Defensive Player of the Year; Barnes, Offensive Player of the Year; and Bernabei, Most Valuable Player.

Varsity award winners were Kansas Stamper, Most Improved; Teeple, Defensive Player of the Year; Jones and Frazee, Co-Offensive Players of the Year; and Lee, MVP.

Among the team accomplishments for this season were sweeping Monterey, Clarkrange and district foe Warren County, and hosting the District 6AA Tournament, where the Lady Jets  lost to White County in the first round.

Post-season awards went to Lee, All-District first team and All-District Tournament, and Dixon, All-District second team.
