Local Gym joins The Avengers

CROSSVILLE — Fight Sports Crossville, formerly The Asylum Training Center, officially became a Fight Sport Jiu Jitsu academy. In doing so, they have also joined and have become part of one of the best jiu jitsu teams on the planet: The Avengers Jiu Jitsu team.

The Avengers Jiu Jitsu team was formed in 2009 by jiu jitsu world champions Pablo Popovitch and the leader and owner of Fight Sports and multi-time world champion Roberto ”Cyborg ” Abreu. Since the group was founded in 2009 it has been very successful including winning the Miami IBJJF Open, the Pan Ams, and the World IBJJF No Gi Championship as a team. The Avengers Jiu Jitsu team is currently ranked in the top 5 on the planet.

Fight Sports Crossville has proudly joined the Fight Sports family and takes great pride in the fact that they have the only members in the entire state of Tennessee that are part of and represent the Avengers Jiu Jitsu team.

"We never had Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Cumberland County until I moved back here from Florida last year and started teaching," said Fight Sport Crossville Jiu Jitsu coach DJ Mackie. "So being able to bring BJJ back home and introduce it to Cumberland County and being able to have the only Fight Sports academy and the only Avengers members in Tennessee means a lot. Joining the Fight Sports family was the best thing that could have happened to myself, the academy, and all of the students involved."

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is taught Monday – Friday at Fight Sports Crossville at 7 p.m. For more information visit www.fscrossville.com or call (931) 787-0015.
