Panthers to play five games in seven days

CROSSVILLE — Mother Nature's fury has forced the Stone Memorial basketball team into playing five games in seven days. That stretch began Tuesday night with a District 4AA double-header at Kingston.

Last Friday's home game with Scott County has been reset for Thursday, with homecoming activities being moved to Friday night, when SMHS hosts Clarkrange.

Senior night activities are scheduled for Monday against Kingston in the home finale, while both teams have road games to Chattanooga Feb.  12 — the Lady Panthers at GPS and the Panthers at McCallie.

Going into Tuesday's action, the Panthers lead the district with a 6-1 mark, followed by Alcoa (6-2), CAK (5-3), Kingston (3-5), Loudon (3-5) and Scott County (0-7).

Alcoa (7-1) leads the girls division, followed by CAK (6-2), Loudon (5-3), Kingston (3-5), Scott County (1-6) and SMHS (1-6).
