Elementary tournament continues this weekend

CROSSVILLE — The eastern division of the county elementary varsity tournament continued Thursday night at Stone Memorial, with the western division games opening Friday night at CCHS.

After Tuesday's eastern division games, the fourth seeded Crab Orchard Lady Tigers defeated fifth-seed Pine View to advance into Thursday's second round against third seed Homestead.

The fourth-seed North Patriots beat fifth-seed Pine View to advance into Thursday's play against third-seed Crab Orchard.

The Second-seeded North Lady Patriots plays the Homestead-Crab Orchard winner in the girls semifinals Saturday at 6 p.m., while top-seed Stone plays the North/Homestead/Crab Orchard winner in the championship game Monday at 6 p.m.

Second-seeded Stone boys will face the winner of the Crab Orchard-North game Saturday at 6 p.m. Top-seed Homestead earned a berth into the championship game Monday against the Stone/Crab Orchard/North winner.

Friday's schedule at CCHS has the third-seed Martin Lady Eagles facing the fourth-seed Brown Lady Bears at 6 p.m., followed by third-seed Pleasant Hill vs. fourth-seed Brown in boys play at  7:15 p.m.

Second-seed Pleasant Hill awaits the Martin-Brown winner Saturday at 6 p.m., while the Martin boys face the Brown-Pleasant Hill winner at 7 p.m.

The top-seeded South teams earned byes into the championship games Monday night.

The countywide semi-finals and championship games will be played at SMHS later next week.
