CCHS bowling teams end season


CROSSVILLE — The Cumberland County Lady Jet bowling team finished its season by dropping a district tournament match against York on Saturday and defeating Jackson County Friday.

York 25, CCHS 2: The Lady Jet bowling team ran into the York Lady Dragon buzz-saw on Saturday at Plateau Lanes and saw their season come to an end. After an opening set that found CCHS only down 155 pins, York pulled away in the second set and won 25-2, according to Coach Craig Taylor

High scores for CCHS came from Stephaine Hinch (172) Savannah Teague (170 and 148), Ava Loshbaugh (144) and Leslie Barlow (142).

The Lady Jets finished a very successful season with a record of 6 - 6.

CCHS 23, Jackson County 4: The Cumberland County Lady Jets used balanced scoring to defeat Jackson County HS 23-4 on Friday.

High scores for CCHS came from Savannah Teague  (151 and 174), Ashley Streeter (164 and 133), Stephanie Hinch (127 and 145)and Ava Loshbaugh (136).

White County 17, CCHS 10: The Cumberland County boys bowling season ended last Thursday night with a 17-10 loss to White County.

CCHS led going into the third set of games, but could not overcome a 188 from Blake Dodson and an 180 from Eric Madden. WCHS headed to the district semi-finals Tuesday. 

High scores for CCHS came from Kevin Dohs (165, 153, 174) Jason Furrer (148) and Robbie Guthrie (142).

The boys team ended the year with a 5-8 record.
