Lady Jet softball team drops double-header to DeKalb County Lady Tigers Friday

CROSSVILLE — The Cumberland County Lady Jet softball team dropped a double-header at DeKalb County Friday 3-1 and 10-6 to fall to 1-2 on the season.

Whitney Hankins was the losing pitcher, allowing three runs on seven hits, while Bri Qualls was the losing pitcher in game two, allowing 10 runs on 12 hits.

The Lady Jets poked five hits in game one and six hits in game two, including a homer by Kenzie Woods, according to the Tennessean.

The Lady Jets played at Rockwood Monday and will host Stone Memorial Thursday at 5 p.m. and Clarkrange Friday at 5 p.m.

Jet soccer: The final score for last Tuesday's soccer match was 3-3, instead of the 2-2 as reported. The Jets travel to Smith County today for a 5:15 match, and will open the home season Thursday at 5:30 p.m. against Oneida.

CCHS tennis: The Jet and Lady Jet tennis teams open the season today at White County and will play at Stone Memorial March 25, before opening the home slate against District 6AAA foe Cookeville March 26.
