CCHS blanked 10-0 by CAK Warriors Tuesday

CROSSVILLE — The Cumberland County Jet baseball team opened the season Tuesday night at Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK), dropping a 10-0 decision to the Warriors.

Matt Ledbetter suffered the loss, allowing two earned runs on four hits with five walks and three strikeouts in 2 1/3  innings. Morgan Richards allowed four hits with one strikeout in 1 2/3 innings and David Elliott pitched 2/3 of an inning, yielding one earned run on one hit and one walk.

"We gave up seven unearned runs and committed six errors in the field. Again, one of the worst games I have been a part of," said Coach David Prichard.

CCHS (0-1) will be in the Playing for the Cure Tournament at McMinn Central through Saturday. According to coacht.com, CCHS plays McMinn Central and Polk County Thursday and Knox Catholic and CAK Saturday.

CCHS opens the home season March 19 against Upperman at 5 p.m.
