Lady Jet volleyballers end regular season

CROSSVILLE — The Cumberland County High School Lady Jet volleyball team closed out the regular season last week against District 6AAA foe Warren County last Tuesday and non-district foe Knoxville Christian last Thursday on senior night.

The Lady Jet junior varsity defeated Warren County in straight sets, while the varsity lost in straight sets.

The JVs defeated Knoxville Christian 25-12, 25-13, while the varsity ended the regular season, winning 25-9, 25-9, 25-13.

Prior to the start of the junior varsity match, CCHS' three seniors, Becky Carter, three-year manager; Ricky Phipps, three-year manager; and Hallie Slabaugh, four-year player were honored.

Becky is the daughter of Kim and Clint Carter; Ricky is the son of Penny and Richard Phipps; and Halie is the daughter of Shannon and Dallas Slabaugh.

The Lady Jets played White County Monday evening at White County, with the winner playing Cookeville.

Donald Smith is the head coach, and is assisted by Kyle Armstrong and Roger Dixon.
