When the 2006 Cumberland County High School Lady Jets golf team opens the campaign, there will be some new faces, including a new coach.
The new coach is Kim Herring, who takes over for Scott Calahan will moved to Stone Memorial High School as the Panthers baseball coach.
After a year off, Amanda Johnson will be coming to the team as the lone senior.
"She has a number of years experience on the links after having played on the elementary golf teams and the CCHS team as a freshman and sophomore," said Herring, a longtime teacher at CCHS, who is looking forward to the opportunity to work with the golf team.
Two players will be moving up from the 2005 junior varsity golf team. They are Katelyn Graham and Jessica Barnwell.
"Katelyn is a junior, while Jessica is a member of the sophomore class. The veteran player returning from last season is Stormi Henley, also a sophomore," added Herring.
"These girls have been working hard on their games this summer and hope to continue the success experienced by the Lady Jets golf teams in recent years," she concluded.
