Field is set for Women's Open

The field for the Golf Capital of Tennessee Women's Open on July 21-23 at Bear Trace Cumberland Mountain is now set, as 102 ladies — 40 professionals and 62 amateurs — are entered at the close of registration Wednesday evening.
This is the fifth straight year for the tournament to be played at Bear Trace; however, defending champion Karen Daves is not entered in the field. A number of the professionals are first-time participants of this tournament and are present or former members of the Duramed Futures Tour of the LPGA.

DePaulo was the 2007 runner-up and was the '07 LPGA Teacher of the Year. Jacobs and Robinson are former champions. Walker-Cooper finished with a 54-hole total of three-under-par 216 in the LPGA Tour's P&G Beauty NW Arkansas Championship on July 3-6.
Blackley is the assistant professional at Bear Trace Cumberland Mountain.

Warren is the 2008 women's state amateur champion, beating Kendal Martindale in the final match at the Honors Course in Ooltewah, TN.
A $7,000 first-place check goes to the winning professional.

The Golf Capital of Tennessee Women's State Open pro-am is scheduled for Saturday, July 19, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The entry fee is $500 per three-person teams. The field will be limited to the first 18 teams entered. Each threesome will be paired with one of the lady professionals or a past champion of the tournament.
Pros committed to play in the pro-am are Shelley Anderson, Lori Cate, Carole Clark, Lisa DePaulo, Stephanie Edwards, Sarah Jacobs, Anne Marie Palli, Kathleen Robinson and Kimberly Williams. Jacobs and Robinson are former champions.
"I would like to encourage everyone to sign up and play in an outstanding events, as the proceeds will benefit Cumberland County Junior Golf," said Bear Trace professional Kelvin Burgin.
There will be a dinner following play on Saturday.
