The field for the Golf Capital of Tennessee Women's State Open at Stonehenge Golf Club continues to increase.
As of Monday morning, 57 ladies (41 amateurs and 16 pros) have registered for the tournament, which is slated July 16-18, with the pro-am on July 15. Of those 57, 28 were entered last year; however, none of the last year's top 18 have registered.
The professional contingent includes Shelley Anderson, Mallory Blackwelder, Clarissa Childs, Jackie Cone, Tami Dunigan, Jeana Finlinson, Katie Fraley, Rachel Ingram, Brittany Johnston, Katie Kempter, Carrie Morris, Diana Ramage, Alley Ramsay, Margaret Shirley, Nicole Smith and Paula Pearson-Tucker.
Several of the professionals are current or former members of the Duramed Futures Tour.
Defending champion Marci Turner and nine of the former champions — Erin Kurczewski (1999), Katie Gallina (2000), Nicolle Flood (2001), Courtney Wood (2001 & 2005), Sarah Jacobs (2003), Leah Hart (2004), Kathleen Robinson (2006), Karen Davies (2007) — have yet to enter, but the entry deadline is July 8.
The amateur field includes Ashley Averitt, Tabitha Beard, Katherine Bell, Ashley Birdwell, Evelyn Blackman, Chelsea Boshears, Jordan Britt, Jillian Brodd, Carolyn Cochran, Lisa Daubner, Mary Katherine Furr, Katy Beth Glover, Ashley Haggard, Morgan Hale, Jordan Hollinshead, Sara Hunt, Rachel A. Ingram, Alex Jasper, Betsie Johnson, Ashley Lance, Carolyn Levy, Staci Lynch, Jessica Maness, Patricia Masick, Sarah Mathews, Linda Mullins, Rhonda Nadasdi, Jennifer Newman, Alexa Payne, Peyton Ritchie, Jean Roise, Maggie Scott, Suzanne Stanley, Kayla Stewart, Lauren Stratten, Shay Sullivan, Jessica Tarbet, Kayla Turner, Ashley Wathen, Leigh Wilkins and Karen Williams.
Pro Am: The city of Crossville will be hosting the pro am on Wednesday, July 15, at 1 p.m., at the Stonehenge Golf Club. Three amateurs will be paired with a lady professional or amateur in the four-person scramble. The cost is $300 per team, while $100 hole sponsorships are available.
