Scorecard playoffs were the determining factor in the 2009 City of Crossville Golf Tournament played Wednesday, June 10, at Lake Tansi.
Gary and Tersa Lively, Tim Jones and Travis Dixon won a scorecard playoff for first place in the first flight, while Earnie Brown, Brett Elmore, Dusty Norrod and Frank Barnwell would take second over Everett Cook, Michael Peters, Ed DeMars and Joe Maxwell. All three teams finished at 13-under par 59.
Steve Hill, Boyd Wyatt, Ted Meadows and Jerry Kerley tied for fourth place with J.H. Graham III, Tom Wolf, Mike Flatt and Randy Lane at 12-under-par 60, but Hill's team set a Tansi tournament record of 10-under-par 26 on the front nine.
Another scorecard playoff determined the top two teams in the second flight, as four teams tied at 8-under-par 64. The two teams which lost the scorecard playoff were placed at the bottom of the first flight, with the other two at the top of the second flight.
The teams of Brian Wyatt, Steve Kotus, Ed Barnwell and Craig Wyatt; Ed Yoder, Vaughn Giguere, Bill Sutton and David Sutton; Bobby Randolph, Jimmy Wayne Smith, Louie DeLorenzo and Kevin Hembree; and Vince Jozwiak, Jim Calvert, Don Werner and Kim James all had 64s.
After the third scorecard playoff, the Jozwiak and Randolph teams were dispatched to the second flight, while Wyatt and Yoder teams went to the top of the second flight.
The fourth scorecard playoff gave the Wyatt team the victory, while Yoder's team was second.
