41st L.A. Fox Tennis Classic begins June 25 on CCHS courts

— The 41st L.A. Fox Tennis Classic will be Thursday-Sunday, June 25-28, at Cumberland County High School. The classic is sponsored by the tournament committee, Cumberland County Bank and Dairy Queen of Crossville.
Players must be available Thursday and/or Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Requests for exemptions based on legitimate excuses may be considered by the tournament committee.
Even though three events are allowed, players are encouraged to enter no more than two events due to scheduling conflicts and the heat at this time of year. Players who enter three events should have no conflicts in scheduling.
Each division should have at least four entries. The tournament committee will consider round robins or combining divisions to facilitate the draw.
The committee reserves the right to cancel divisions, place players in appropriate divisions or exclude players from the tournament.
First- and second-place finishers receive awards.
Players should check in with tournament officials at least 15 minutes prior to play.
USTA Tournament rules will govern play.
Each entrant supplies a new can of USTA balls for each match. Winners keep the unopened balls.
Matches are best two out of three sets with a 15-minute default time and a 10-minute warmup period.
A 12-point tie breaker will be played for all sets that reach 6-all.
Interrupted play will resume at the score when play stopped.
For doubles play, enter the level for the more advanced player.
Entry fees should accompany the application, but must be paid before starting play.
Junior play will consist of two groups - ages 12 and under and age 13 through 16.
Starting times will be 4 p.m. CDT on Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. CDT on Saturday and 1 p.m. CDT on Sunday.
The cost is $10 for the first event and $6 each for the second and third events. The entry deadline is noon, Monday, June 22.
Draw information will be posted at the CCHS tennis courts by 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 24.
