Jets track team shines in multi-school meet

Cumberland County High School set several personal records during their April 10 match with Stone Memorial High School, Livingston, Upperman and Clarkrange.
The Jets finished second to SMHS with 100 points, while SMHS had 119, followed by Clarkrange (74), Upperman (50) and Livingston (0).
David Qualls finished second in the long jump behind SMHS' Cameron Fox with a jump of 17'5", while Billy Segers was fourth with a personal record jump of 17'1". SMHS' Evan Sanders was third with 17'1 1/2".
Qualls was second in the triple jump with a leap of 36'7.75", behind Fox (37'11.25"). SMHS' Trey Priestwood and Matt Mifflin were third and fourth, respectively.
Jeremiah Limburg (44'7"), Rusty Arwood (44'2") and Travis Dawson (42'3") had personal records to finish second through fourth, respectively, in the shot put behind SMHS' Greg Roark (45'10").
Rusty Arwood won the discus (120'9"), followed by Young (105'10"), Fox (102'11") and Will Ballard (97'5.50").
T.J. Noel was second in the 3200 (11:46) behind SMHS' Josh Turan (11:23.5).
Aaron Kirkland (19.4) and William Seney (20.8) finished fourth and fifth in the 110 high hurdles with personal records. SMHS' Evan Sanders (17:47) and Briar Pierce (17:48) were first and second, respectively.
Personal records by Qualls (12.3), Travis Hargis (13.0) and Cory King (13.1) were set in the 100 meters, won by SMHS' Tevis Barnes (11:34). The Panthers' Trey Hollingsworth was fourth in 11:94.
In the 1600, Dustin Seney (5:28.0) and Noel (5:38.6) were third and fifth, respectivley, behind SMHS' Turan (5:18.51) and Bryant Davis (5:20.7).
In the 4x200, Hargis, Andrew Phipps, Brad Davis and Pennycuff were third in 1:46.5. Stone was second in 1:41.22.
Two personal records were set by William Seney (48.4) and Aaron Kirkland (50.4) in the 300 intermediate hurdles. SMHS' Pierce (46.36) and Sanders (48.38) were second and fourth, respectively.
In the 800, Forrest Longway was second (2:18.2 pr) and Dustin Seney (2:37.1) fourth, behind SMHS' Mifflin (2:17.24) and Jacob Butler, third (2:35.21). Other Jets, Davis (26.0), Hargis (26.4), Phipps (26.5) and King (28.8), had personal records in the 200.
In the 4x400, Matt Pennycuff, Nick Haper, Dustin Seney and Longway finished fourth in 4:26.53. SMHS was second in 4:00.38.
The Lady Jets finished second with 91 points, behind SMHS (150) and ahead of Upperman (63), Clarkrange (41) and Livingston (5).
In the girls long jump, Leah Shulley finished fifth in 11'11.25, while Paige Chappell had personal record jump of 11'11" and Kendal Yates jumped 11'9.25".
SMHS' Whitleigh Sherrill was first in 13'6.5", while Kristin Roark was third (13'0.25").
Yates was second (26'1.25") behind SMHS' Kelli Keck (30'0.25").
Sarah Wyatt had a toss of 20'4.5 in the shot put, while Kristin Roark was fifth (27'7").
Missy Bargayo set a personal record in the high jump (4'6") for second place. SMHS' Erin Keyes (4'8") and Destiny Dishman (4'2") were first and third, respectively.
In the 3200, Amelia McCoy set a school record 12.55.8 to win the 3200, while Madison Davis was third in 14:01.7.
Alison Gentry, Taylor Williams, Chappell and Bargayo were second in the 4x100 in 56.5. SMHS was first in 54.25.
Leah Shulley, Amanda Server, Williams and McCoy took first in 11:34.9, while Stone was fourth in 13:54.4.
Bargayo won the 100 in 13.19, while Courtney Pearson was fifth in 14.7. SMHS' Rebecca Gonzales was second in 13.20.
Victoria Ports won the 1600 in 6:02.6, while Jessica Miles was third in 7:22.26. SMHS' Whitleigh Sherrill was fourth (7:30.08.)
Gentry, Williams, Chappell and Pearson were second in the 4x200 (2:01.1), behind SMHS (1:55.81).
In the 800, Shulley was first in 2:50.9 and Server third (3:03.1). SMHS' Erin Keyes was second in 2:51.26 and Pressley Hall was fourth in 3:23.47.
Pearson was second in the 200 with a personal record 30.16, behind Gonzales (27.97).
Bargayo, Williams, Chappell and Ports won the 4x400 in 4:50.4, with Stone third (5:23.76).
