CCHS, Stone baseball teams both lose badly on the road

— The baseball teams from Cumberland County High School and Stone Memorial High School returned to action on a cold, snowy Monday afternoon in respective district road contests.
CCHS lost 9-4 at Rhea County in a District 5AAA contest.
"It was a close one most of the way. It was 6-4 going into the bottom of the sixth and we fell apart defensively," said CCHS Coach David Pritchard.
Coach Scott Calahan's SMHS Panthers lost a 12-1 District 4AA decision at Anderson County. Jon Doran, Shane Wood and Taylor Kiser each doubled for the Panthers.
On Tuesday, SMHS hosted Anderson County, and CCHS hosted Rhea County.
