The Cumberland County High School Jet soccer team managed to make it through the entire week's schedule without losing a game.
Unfortunately, they were not able to muster a win either as the team tied Oneida and Kingston with identical 1-1 scores at the opposing teams' venues. The ties now place CCHS's record at 2-1-2 overall, according to Coach Daniel McInerney.
After enduring the long bus ride to Oneida, the team was never ever really able to get to its full potential on Tuesday, falling behind 1-0 early in the second half.
However, the team was able to knot the score at the eventual 1-1 finale when Mikey Roos scored the equalizer with about 25 minutes to play.
Thursday's game was a different game with the same result at Kingston. The Jets came out with an extreme intensity and were able to earn the first mark when TD Schlafer scored midway through the first half on an assist from Hunter Sweeney.
However, Kingston was able to match the goal with a minute remaining in the first half putting the score at 1-1, which would become the final score. Despite there being several scoring opportunities for both squads in the second half, neither team was able to finish.
Senior Ron Coleman made several impressive saves to seal the tie.
The next action for the Cumberland County Jets will be to host Warren County at 6 p.m. on Tuesday and then travel to White County on Thursday for a 5 p.m. game.
