Christmas is approaching quickly and one Cumberland County nonprofit agency plans to help children who are in need have a special Christmas this year.
Christmas on the Mountain is currently collecting toys for its annual toy drive. The group is collecting new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages. The toys may be dropped off in the big red barrels found at any of the locations around the Crossville area from now through Dec. 14.
"We are collecting toys for more than 500 children this year. Each year it has gotten bigger and better," said Julie Vaden, coordinator for Christmas on the Mountain.
Christmas on the Mountain is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization and donations are tax deductible.
Drop-off locations this year for placing toys in the big red barrels are at Comfort Keepers, GG's Pizza, Crossville Tire and Appliance, First Bank, Peg Broadcasting, Dollar General Market, Big Boy's BBQ, Save-a-Lot, Shadden Tire (both locations) and Verizon Wireless.
The group will then host a wrapping party later in December. Several volunteer helpers will also be needed for the wrapping party.
Cash donations can also be made. For more information about helping for this year's Christmas on the Mountain toy drive, call Julie Vaden at 707-8886.
