A Crossville man suffered fatal injuries in a two-vehicle crash Sunday and the driver of a second vehicle suffered serious injuries, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol's preliminary investigation.
The victim was identified as Christopher Dishman, 43, of Crossville. The seriously injured driver of a second vehicle was identified as Debora Lind, 55, also of the Crossville area. She was transported to the trauma center at The University of Tennessee Medical Center where she continues to be treated. Her condition at press time was not available.
The mishap occurred on Hwy. 70 E in the area of Certified Cylinder shortly before 9 p.m., according to THP spokesperson Sgt. Bill Miller.
A 2006 Toyota RG4 driven by Lind and traveling east reportedly was struck by a 1985 Ford F15 pickup driven by Dishman after the pickup crossed left of the center line, according to Miller's preliminary report. The crash was described as head-on.
The Cumberland County Fire Department responded to the scene along with Cumberland County Emergency Medical Services ambulances and the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department.
Both victims were rushed to Cumberland Medical Center and Lind later was transferred to the regional trauma center.
The report states Lind was wearing a seat belt and Dishman was not.
