Suspect charged in Sportsman Club break-in

CROSSVILLE — A Crossville man has been arrested and charged in connection with the burglary of a shooting club's building in the county that occurred last week, according to arrest reports.

Jeremy Wayne Davis, 22, 25 Taylor St., is charged with theft of property in an arrest warrant filed against him by Cumberland County Sheriff's Investigator Scott Griffin. He was taken into custody at the Roane County Jail Friday night, four days after the burglary.

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the Sportsman Club off Shorty Barnes Rd. April 8 after it was discovered the club's building had been broken into. Missing were two weapons, a DVR, a large amount of ammunition and $500 in cash, according to reports.

According to Griffin's arrest affidavit, it is alleged Davis was found in possession ammunition and the Samsung DVR that was taken in the burglary.

Davis was ordered held without bond pending a bond hearing and was scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court this week. Investigation is continuing.
