CROSSVILLE — The United Fund is pleased to announce that Margaret Vogel is this year’s Pleasant Hill Campaign Chairperson. This is Margaret’s third year to head up this effort in Pleasant Hill. Last year almost $6,000 was raised to benefit the United Fund’s 37 partner agencies.

Margaret has lived in Pleasant Hill for 20 years. She is active in her community through the Pleasant Hill Community Church and Wharton Association. She is also an accomplished artisan who weaves and knits many items for various groups.

Margaret would like to challenge the Pleasant Hill community to give generously and help the United Fund reach their 2013 goal of $365,000. Some of the 37 non-profit agencies that receive grants from the United Fund are Avalon, Good Samaritans, Hilltoppers, Kids on the Rise and the Youth Achievement Foundation.

In a statement released by Margaret, she said, “The need is great this year as families continue to struggle to get by.” She went on to say, “One of the great things I like about the United Fund is that all money collected from the folks in Cumberland County stays right here in our community.”

If you would like to help Margaret in this effort please clip out and send in the donation which can be found in the Friday, Oct. 19, edition of the Chronicle.
