CROSSVILLE — Crossville Police are continuing their investigation into a burglary at Cumberland Medical Center during which items were taken including controlled medication, according to a department report.

The incident was reported to city police by hospital security Dec. 2 after a hole was cut in the wall of nursing supervisor's office to gain access to a medication room, according to Ptl. Andrew King's report.

It is believed the burglary occurred around 2:45 a.m. on Nov. 29 and a surveillance video shows a man in the area. Police investigators have contacted that man, but he denied any participation in, or knowledge of, the break-in.

Numerous items were taken from "crash cart medication drawers," and medication was also taken from a refrigerator. Access to the refrigerator was gained by removing the hinges from the door.

Maj. Mark Rosser and Det. Danny Harris responded to the scene to gather evidence and talk to witnesses. Investigation is continuing.
