MADD to hold vigil Sunday


CROSSVILLE — On Sunday, MADD Upper Cumberland and the 13th Judicial District Attorney General’s office will hold their 20th annual Candlelight Vigil of Remembrance and Hope. The program will be held at the Wesley Arena Theater at 271 E. 9th St. in Cookeville. The event is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

This is an event for victims of drunk driving and murder victims. Injured and bereaved victims of impaired driving crashes and family members of homicide victims will gather to pay tribute to lives changed or lost in sudden, tragic circumstances.

Participants are urged to bring a framed photo of their loved one to be displayed during the program.

This event is open to all of the community, and any law enforcement and emergency medical personnel who are able to attend are urged to come in uniform.
