CROSSVILLE — Participants in the 2013 Cumberland County Walks A Lot program logged their first few miles of activity Saturday at the program's kick off at Centennial Park. Participants will log their physical activity through Oct. 16. Those completing the program will be entered in a drawing for a $100 gift card, while the person who logs the most activity over the next 19 weeks will win the grand prize of a $100 gift card. Throughout the program, there will be drawings for prizes. The goal is to encourage everyone to make physical activity a personal habit and to enjoy the positive effects of getting active. Sponsors include the Cumberland County Health Department, Cumberland Medical Center, Walgreens, Kmart, Flowers Bakery, East Tennessee Dodge and Regions Bank. There is still time to sign up to participate in the program. Call Ruth at the Cumberland County Health Department at 707-2554.
