The Cumberland County Board of Education voted 7-2 Saturday to begin contract negotiations with Donald Andrews to serve as the next Cumberland County Director of Schools.
Andrews currently serves as the Randolph County, NC, superintendent of schools. He has 17 years' experience as a superintendent and was honored as Superintendent of the Year in 2005 and 2012 by the North Carolina Athletic Association. He has also served as a high school principal and assistant superintendent.
